PURCELLVILLE ARTS COUNCIL ANNOUNCES ARTWORK EXHIBIT BY PENNY HAUFFE
PURCELLVILLE, VA. February 3, 2016 – The first in a series of 3-month long art exhibits in Purcellville’s Town Hall features the works of local artist Penny Hauffe. The show runs from the beginning of January to the end of March 2016. The first floor corridors of Town Hall now have a gallery-level hanging system which creates an opportunity for local artists to exhibit their work.
Born in Namibia, Penny Hauffe was educated in England (Oxford University/Gemini School of Illustration). She traveled the world before making her home in Western Loudoun. She is inspired by all that is around her in the natural world. Penny’s works demonstrate a tremendous use of color – they can range from playful illustrations to landscapes and images incorporating ethereal elements of nature. An accomplished painter, sculptor, muralist, illustrator and teacher, Penny’s work in Purcellville’s Town Hall shows the diversity in her style and medium.
A Meet-The-Artist reception will take place in Purcellville’s Town Hall on Wednesday, February 10th from 5:30 to 7:30pm. The public is welcome to join Penny Hauffe and the Purcellville Arts Council in a celebration of Penny’s work. The show may otherwise be seen according to regular Town Hall office hours (Mon – Fri 8:00am – 5:00pm except holidays).
